New Sightseeing Spot in Osaka Castle Park

“MIRAIZ-OSAKA-JO” is a new sightseeing spot built by renewing the former 4th Division Headquarters Government Building (former Osaka City Museum), which was a historic building in Osaka Castle Park.

Inside MIRAIZ-OSAKA-JO, cafes, souvenir shops, and restaurants with a nice atmosphere are lined up, making this building the perfect place for a break in Osaka Castle sightseeing.

MIRAIZ-OSAKA-JO has everything foreign tourists want, such as a ninja experience and a souvenir shop where you can find a lot of samurai goods. What’s more, English is available here so no need to worry about language.

The history of Osaka Castle

You can enjoy the history of Osaka Castle on the 1st floor (free). The historical chronology of Osaka Castle, the role of Osaka Castle at the end of the Edo period, and the gold leaf tiles of the real Toyotomi period Osaka Castle are also exhibited here.

We recommend you visiting here before entering Osaka Castle so you’ll be able to enjoy it even more.

Blue Bird Roof Top Bar

The combination of local cuisine, drinks, and the spectacular view of Osaka Castle from the terrace on the 4th floor is absolutely breathtaking.

This bar opens both daytime and night, allowing you to enjoy two different sides of Osaka Castle. At night, Osaka Castle will be illuminated and you don’t want to miss it. Events are held occasionally as well.

MIRAIZ-OSAKA-JO is a popular gourmet spot in Osaka Castle Park. The rooftop cafe welcomes you with an Osaka traditional cultural performance on weekday lunches and afternoons. Under the supervision of Nogaku artist Okura Kyogen, restaurant and cafe employees learn traditional Osaka cultures such as drums, koto, and dance, and perform “Taiko Taiko” as a “hospitality corps”. Please enjoy the traditional Japanese culture with Osaka meals.

Samurai Experience

For those who are interested in Japanese samurai culture, we would like to recommend this ninja experience the Japan Slaughterhouse Association offers.

The instructors will teach you how to use the sword and how to get around in samurai culture. You will get to wear a kimono and start with a seiza/thank-you greeting.

From the basics such as how to hold and slash a sword using a wooden sword, you will practice how to fight against your opponent.

Illusion Museum

You can watch a cutting-edge illusion show produced by “Magic Creator” Magus, who handles everything from magic directing to equipment production.

There is an area where you can experience the latest illusions as well as an area where you can enjoy a performance show right in front of you.

Road Trains run in the Park

It takes about 15 to 20 minutes to walk in Osaka Castle Park.
Road trains and electric cars are also running, so why not try using them?
It runs from 9:30 to 17:00.
