Nakagawa Aquatic Park
Nakagawa Aquatic Park in Tochigi Prefecture is an aquarium specializing in freshwater fish. 20,000 fish of about 300 species are exhibited, from endemic species of Japan to species in the Amazon River.
You can observe piranhas, catfish, and even capybaras swimming from any angle in a huge tunnel-shaped tank of about 400 tons that duplicates the Amazon River. The touching aquarium where you can touch crayfish, starfish, sharks, etc., and the “Fish Laboratory” where you can learn about fish are also popular.
