Sounkyo
Sounkyo is a valley located in the upper reaches of the Ishikari River. The about 24 km continuous cliff is outstanding.
The most beautiful part of the valley in Sounkyo is Oobako. It has an arrangement of rocks with wide columnar joints like a folding screen, which is also 200m high.
From another view spot, Soubakudai, you can see the famous waterfalls “Galaxy Falls” and “Ryuseino Falls”, which have been selected as one of the 100 best waterfalls in Japan.
