Kushiro Shitsugen National Park
Kushiro Shitsugen National Park is a national park with an area of about 28.7ha, consisting of Japan’s largest Kushiro Marsh and surrounding hills.
Many animals and plants inhabit this park, such as the special natural monument “Red-crowned Crane”, the rare large raptor “White-tailed Eagle”, and the “Salamandrella chinensis”, which is said to survive through the ice age.
There are 5 observation decks and 6 promenades in the park so you observe seasonal flowers and marsh vegetation during your hike.
In the summer, we also recommend going down the river by canoe.
