Ryoanji Temple

The Zen Buddhist temple “Ryoanji” is famous for its stone garden and is also registered as a World Heritage Site. The Japanese rock garden made of only 15 stones and white sand in 75 tsubo surrounded by a Tsukiji wall is magnificent.

The design of this garden is highly calculated so you can’t see all 15 stones at once, or the perspective is applied by lowering the wall towards the back,

Adults / high school students 500 yen, elementary and junior high school students 300 yen

Access
From Kyoto Station, get off at the city bus “Ritsumeikan University Mae” and walk for about 7 minutes.
Immediately after getting off at the city bus “Ryoanji-mae” from Keihan Sanjo Station
About 7 minutes on foot from Keifuku Electric Railroad “Ryoanji” station
