Osaka Tenmangu
“Osaka Tenmangu” was founded in 949 at Emperor Murakami’s request. Rebuilt in 1843, the current shrine enshrines Michizane Sugawara, who is worshiped as the god of learning so many examinees come to pray for success.
The “Tenjin Festival”, held from July 24th to 25th every year, is one of the three major festivals in Japan and the three major summer festivals in Osaka.
