Akita dog hall


The only museum of a single dog breed in Japan, is located in Odate City. The birthplace of the Akita dog is also a national natural monument. The dog registry, ecology, breeding footage, biographies, and other materials of the Akita Inu are preserved and exhibited, and from late April to mid-November. You can see real Akita dogs at the kennel. In front of the hall, there is a bronze statue of the loyal dog Hachiko, “Hachiko no Hachiko”, facing the direction of his birthplace, Daigo, Odate City.
