Red Brick Folk Museum
Built in 1912 as the main building of the former Akita Bank head office. It consists of three buildings, the new building and the storage, centering on the “Red Brick Building”. This is designated as an important cultural property of the country. Along with valuable Western-style architecture from the Meiji period, you can also appreciate special exhibitions related to local history, folklore, and arts and crafts. The woodcut artist Tokuyuki Katsuhira Memorial Museum and Living National Treasure blacksmith Shiro Sekiya Memorial Room are also worth seeing!
