Kakusenkei
Located on the Daishoji River in Yamanaka Onsen, this valley stretches for about 1.3 kilometers and you can enjoy its rich nature in every season, fresh leaves in spring, the stream of cool water in summer, the autumn leaves in the fall, and the beautifully snowed valley in the winter.
Throughout the promenade, the bridges with different tastes are something you don’t want to miss, such as the arched stone bridge “Kurotani Bridge“, the S-shaped design bridge “Ayatori Bridge“, and the all-hinoki cypress bridge “Korogi Bridge“.
In the surrounding area, there are various tourist spots. “Mugen-an” where Kutani ware and Korin Ogata’s works are exhibited in an authentic samurai building built by Shoin, and “Basho-do” where Matsuo Basho is enshrined, are a must-see.
