Asahikawa City Asahiyama Zoo
Not only animals from the Arctic Circle but also about 110 species from all over the world are exhibited at Asahikawa City Asahiyama Zoo. What makes this zoo special is its unique exhibition method. It is designed in order for people to be able to observe real-life animals.
The polar bears that jump into the huge pool, the columnar aquarium at which you can observe the characteristic swimming of seals, and the hippo that spends most of the day underwater are a must-see.
