Hanazono Shrine
“Hanazono Shrine” ,which sits near the Shinjuku Ward Office, has been the general guardian of Shinjuku since before the opening of Edo by Ieyasu Tokugawa, and has been watching over the development of Shinjuku. Naito Shinjuku, which is located in the area of Shinjuku 1-chome to 2-chome and 3-chome, has prospered as a post town and has been worshiped by many people as a god of prosperous business. “Tori no Ichi”, a symbol of prosperous business and lined with rakes, is one of the remnants of the Edo period. Every year, the precincts are brilliant with many stores and worshipers.
In addition, Hanazono Shrine is famous for “Geino Asama Shrine”, an shrine where the god of entertainment is enshrined. There are many tags with the names of entertainers on them, making it a popular tourist spot.
Furthermore, “Itokuinari Shrine”, which is located in the back of a series of torii gates like a tunnel, is a power spot that attracts attention as it is said to bring luck for marital harmony, child-giving, marriage, and fulfillment of romance.
