Atago Shrine

“Atago Shrine” is located on the top of Mt. Atago, just a short walk from Toranomon Hills, Minato-ku, Tokyo. It is a perfect place to relax, with a quiet space full of greenery that you can’t imagine in the center of the city.

Atago Shrine was built in 1603. To prevent fires in Edo, Ieyasu Tokugawa enshrined Homusubi no Mikoto, who is known as the god of fire protection, as the main deity. Also known as the “god of trade-in” and “god of victory,” the Mito clan ronin who attacked Naosuke Ii in “Sakurada Mongai no Hen” is said to have prayed for success here. Recommended spot for history lovers.

In addition, it is also famous for having 86 steep stone steps called “Stairway of Success”. It is said that you will succeed at work and career advancement when climbing. Try it when you visit.
