Shiroyone Senmaida
“Shiroyone Senmaida” is a rice terrace selected as Japan’s first world agricultural heritage.
On the steep slope facing the Sea of Japan, there are a total of 1,004 rice fields on multiple steps. The cultivation is done by hand because the area of each piece is too small to use cultivators.
An illumination event “Aze no Kirameki” is held from mid-October to early March.
