Kashihara Jingu

Kashihara Jingu is the place where the first Emperor Jimmu took the throne. This Jingu was built in 1897 to enshrine Emperor Jimmu and his empress, Himetataraisuzuhime.

At the foot of Mt. Unebi, there are stunning buildings such as the main shrine, which was relocated from the former Kyoto Imperial Palace, and the outer worship hall, which is a collection of the best of Showa shrine architecture.
