So-shisha

So-shisha is a house where Tsubouchi Shoyo, a literary master of the Meiji era known for Shakespeare’s translations, spent 15 years until his death in 1935 (Showa 10).

It came to be called “Soshisha” after the two large persimmon trees in the garden.

Here, you can see many of his properties such as a tower-shaped library stack, a brush mound, and a flat gate with a brush by Yaichi Aizu.
