Ishishimizu Hachimangu

“Iwashimizu Hachimangu”, one of the three major Hachimangu shrines in Japan, sits in the place where three rivers meet to form the Yodo River.

The entire Otokoyama mountain directly facing Mt. Tenno is the precincts. The shrine on the top of the mountain is the oldest and largest existing Yawata-style shrine in Japan and is also designated as a national treasure.

Famous warlords are also said to have worshiped here. In the precincts, the Camphor tree is said to have been dedicated by Masanari Kusunoki, the Loose by Genryomo, and the Amadoi by Nobunaga Oda are preserved.

There is also a monument to Edison, as Edison succeeded in lighting an incandescent bulb for a long time using bamboo from here.
