Fushimi-Inari Taisha
Fushimi-Inari Taisha is the headquarters of Inari Shrine, which has about 30,000 branch shrines nationwide and enshrines the god for business prosperity.
Many small shrines and mounds are scattered on Mt. Inari behind the main hall, and the “Senbon Torii”, thousands of red torii gates, is a masterpiece.
In recent years, Fushimi-Inari Taisha has been receiving a great deal of attention especially by foreign tourists and has become a very popular tourist spot.
Make a wish in front of the stone lantern and lift the “Omokaru Stone” just past the Senbon Torii. It is said that if the stone is lighter than expected, the wish will come true, and if it is heavier, it will not come true.
