Oshi Castle

Oshi Castle was built around the beginning of the Bunmei era of the Muromachi period. The castle is said to have withstood a flood attack by Mitsunari Ishida in 1845, and is one of the seven famous castles in the Kanto region.

The current Oshijo Gosankai Yagura is a reconstruction of what was demolished during the Meiji Ishin, and you can enjoy a panoramic view of the city from the top floor. There is also a local museum with exhibits on the theme of “History and Culture of Gyoda”.

This splendid castle full of history and romance is on the movie “Nobo no Shiro”.
