Lake Tazawa is an almost circular lake with a circumference of about 20 kilometers. With a depth of about 423 meters, it is the deepest in Japan. The mystical lake is colored by the legend of Princess Tatsuko, who drank the water of Lake Tazawa, which is said to grant eternal youth and beauty, and became a dragon.
