Osamu Dazai Memorial Hall “Shayokan”

The Osamu Dazai Memorial Hall “Shayokan” is the Tsushima House, the birthplace of Osamu Dazai, which was built in 1907. Aomori Hiba wood is used in the building, which is a mixture of Japanese and Western styles, even in the rice storehouse, and has been designated as a national important cultural property. In the material exhibition room that used the storehouse, the cloak that Dazai wore during his lifetime, writing utensils, handwritten manuscripts, etc., as well as first editions and translations are displayed.
