Summer in Tohoku is full of festivals! The Japanese fire festival “Aomori Nebuta Matsuri” is held every year from August 2nd to 7th, the “Hirosaki Neputa Festival” from August 1st to 7th, and the “Goshogawara Tachi Nebuta” from August 4th to 8th. It is called Aomori’s three major Nebuta, and the names and slogans are different depending on the region. Don’t miss the “Hachinohe Sansha Taisai Festival” from July 31st to August 4th, where gorgeous decorations and detailed dolls are set up!
