Yasaka Shrine
Located at the eastern end of Shijo-Dori, Yasaka Shrine is said to give you luck for a happy marriage and warding off evil, and is a shrine where worshipers gather not only from the local area but also from all over the country.
Every July, the Yasaka Shrine festival “Gion Matsuri” is held at one of the three major festivals in Japan, and is crowded with many Shinto rituals and events such as the Yamahoko cruise.
Among the Yasaka Shrines, check out “Utsukushi Gozensha,” where the three goddesses are enshrined.
