Goryokaku Park

Goryokaku Park is the final battlefield of the Boshin War, the star-shaped castle is designated as a national special historic site.

From the Goryokaku Tower with a height of about 107m, you can see the beautiful star shape of Goryokaku and the city of Hakodate and Mt. Hakodate.

Approximately 1,600 cherry blossoms are planted in the park, and the gorgeous scenery spreads from late April to early May. In winter, the illumination “Hoshino Yume” is a must-see.
