Sansenin

The temple of the Tendai sect, “Sansenin,” originated from the Enfubo built by the missionary master, Saisumi, on Mt. Hiei. After the repetitive relocations, it moved to the present land of Ohara after the Meiji Restoration.

There are many things to see such as “Shuhekien” and “Yuseien”, two famous scenic gardens designated by Kyoto City, and “Gokurakuin” designated as an important cultural property, and the main hall.

From mid-June to July, don’t miss the Hydrangea Garden. You can enjoy the rare star hydrangea.
