Established in 1963, the long-established robatayaki restaurant Jiraiya has a history of nearly 60 years. The specialty is charcoal-grilled. The counter seats where you can watch the food being prepared are crowded with locals and visitors from outside the prefecture. The restaurant’s signature dish, Charcoal-grilled Kinki, is an exquisite dish of skewered and grilled Idiot Fish. The fragrant skin on the outside and the juiciness of the white meat inside are unique to charcoal grilling. And the soup made with Idiot Fish bones after eating is also excellent.

In addition, you can enjoy charcoal-grilled Sendai specialties such as “Sendai Beef Steak” and “Sasa Kamaboko”. Sashimi, which is full of seasonal seafood, is also recommended. The sake goes well with fresh seafood. That is selected only from Miyagi’s famous sake by the sake master. Among them, the original sake “Junmai Daiginjo Jiraiya” goes perfectly with the aroma and flavor of the charcoal-grilled Idiot fish.
