Ritsurin Garden
The area of the flat garden of Ritsurin Garden is about 16.2 hectares, which is equivalent to 3.5 Tokyo Domes. This alone is one of the largest gardens in the daimyo garden, but the area including Mt. Shiun, which is the background, covers about 75 hectares, which is equivalent to 16 Tokyo Domes and is one of the gardens designated as a cultural property in Japan. We are proud of the size of one.
The daimyo garden, which was built so that you can take a walk around the pond by expressing mountains and valleys with undulating terrain around a large pond, is the biggest attraction to enjoy various scenery while going around the large garden. Ritsurin Garden, which has 6 ponds and 13 artificial hills on a vast site, is divided into a south garden with an excellent ground split stone structure as a daimyo garden in the early Edo period, and a north garden developed as a modern park after the Meiji era. Please enjoy each of the various scenery.
