Morning market in Hida Takayama
“Morning Market in Hida Takayama” has developed as a market mainly for rice, mulberry, and flower since the Edo period. The items are sold by the wives of farmers.
Nowadays, this market is held at two places, “Jinyamae Morning Market” in the Jinyamae Square and “Miyakawa Morning Market” along Miyagawa.
You can buy fresh vegetables, pickles, miso, and folk crafts and enjoy talking to those wives. They might get you some discounts!
