Cape Kamui
Cape Kamui juts out into the Shakotan blue-colored sea.
There is a promenade about 20 minutes on foot to the tip of the cape and a magnificent panoramic view of the Sea of Japan is astonishing.
In early summer, hemerocallis dumortieri var. esculenta blooms all over the cape, and the contrast between the beautiful blue and yellow of the sea is definitely a must-see.
Sea urchin is a specialty of the Shakotan area so if you visit in early summer, be sure to try the fresh sea urchins.
