Matsuyama Castle
Yoshiaki Kato, a warlord, started to build a castle in 1602 and completed it over a quarter of a century.
Honmaru sits at the top of Shiroyama (Katsuyama) at an altitude of 132 meters, and Ninomaru (Ninomaru Historical Garden) and Sannomaru (Horinouchi) are located at the base. This castle is counted as one of three renristushiki-hirayamajo in Japan. You can access the castle tower at the top of the mountain by ropeway lift.

Entrance to the castle tower & round trip to the ropeway: Adults 1,020 yen,
Elementary school students 410 yen * Up to 2 people under elementary school age are free per adult
Access
[Train] From JR Matsuyama Station, take a city train and get off at “Okaido” stop, then walk for about 5 minutes (to the ropeway “Shinonomeguchi” platform)
