Hōkan-ji Temple
Hōkan-Ji Temple is famous for its outstanding five-storied pagoda, which really stands out because there are no tall buildings in Kyoto. The pagoda was first built during the Asuka period and was rebuilt in 1440.
If you look at the pagoda from Niningzaka and Sanningzaka, you can enjoy a very Kyoto-like view. Many people stop and shoot here as well.
The illumination at night is fantastic, and you can enjoy a different Japanese atmosphere from the daytime.
