In “Minamiza”, Kabuki, theatrical performances, and concerts are held and this theater inherits the tradition of the seven turrets that were approved by Kyoto Shoshidai in the early Edo period.

The present building was built in 1929 (Showa 4), and about two years of renovation work was completed in 2018.

Minamiza has been reborn as a central place to spread Japanese traditions both domestically and internationally. In addition to the performances, the “stage experience tour” in which you can observe its backstage is also recommended.
