Metropolitan Area Outer Underground Discharge Channel
The Metropolitan Area Outer Underground Discharge Channel is one of the world’s largest underground discharge channels that has been built to mitigate flood damage in the metropolitan area. It is about 50m underground and about 6.3km long from Kamikanezaki in Kasukabe City to Obuchi.
In addition to this “Pressurization Water Tank”, there is also a tour (fee required) that shows newly opened the pump room, and gas turbine section, which was not open to the public. The huge space like a secret base spreading underground is a masterpiece!
A solemn atmosphere is like a temple. You will be surely overwhelmed by the huge underground space!
