Hirayu Otaki
Hirayu Otaki is a famous waterfall with a height of about 64 meters and a width of 6 meters in the Hirayu Onsen area and has been selected as one of the 100 best waterfalls in Japan.
The “Hirayu Otaki Freezing Festival” is held from mid to late February every year, showing beautiful/different scenery in each of the four seasons, especially the fresh green in spring and the autumn leaves are a must-see
The waterfall freezes in midwinter and becomes a huge icicle. It is lit up and is turned into a fantastic illumination.

[Train] From JR “Takayama” station, get off at “Otakiguchi Campsite Mae” bound for Nohi Bus Shin-Hotaka Ropeway, and walk for about 15 minutes.
[Car] Kanto: Approximately 60 minutes from the Nagano Expressway “Matsumoto” IC / Chubu / Kansai: Approximately 50 minutes from the Chubu Jukan Expressway “Takayama” IC
